Foothills Chiropractic was founded in the fall of 1994 by Dr. Jurgen Oltjenbruns. When he retired in 2018, Dr. Jeffery Ring took over the practice. Today, Dr. Ring leads the practice alongside Dr. Gail Shriner, our massage therapists, our reflexology specialist, and a friendly front office team, all treating your symptoms through a natural, caring approach.

Dr. Ring found chiropractic the way many patients do: in pain. A back injury in high school took him off the tennis team, and medication wasn't fixing it. A chiropractor found a muscle imbalance caused by carrying his backpack on one shoulder, and after a short series of adjustments and exercises he was back on the court. He learned that when you correct what's causing the problem, the body recovers much faster, and that lesson still guides his care today.
He earned his Doctor of Chiropractic from Southern California University of Health Sciences in 2001 and co-owned La Mesa Spine Center near San Diego for 14 years. In 2018 he and his family moved to Arizona, where he took over Foothills Chiropractic from its founder, Dr. Jurgen Oltjenbruns. He loves being part of the Carefree and Cave Creek community.
Dr. Shriner has been receiving chiropractic care since she was 6 years old. Raised in Spencer, Iowa, she knew chiropractic was her calling after hearing a woman chiropractor speak at her high school career day.
She earned her B.A. in biology from Wartburg College in 1998, with summer internships at the University of Iowa and the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, and graduated with honors from Northwestern College of Chiropractic in 2001. She joined Foothills Chiropractic in 2002. She is active in the local Kiwanis and Soroptimist International and enjoys hiking and sports.
