SHOULDER PAIN AND ROTATOR CUFF TENDINOPATHY

Care for sore, stiff shoulders and irritated rotator cuff tendons, in Carefree on the Cave Creek border. In most cases we can see you the same day.

WHAT IS ROTATOR CUFF TENDINOPATHY?

The rotator cuff is a group of muscles and tendons that hold the shoulder joint steady and help you lift and turn your arm. When these tendons are irritated, the shoulder often hurts when you reach overhead, sleep on that side, serve in pickleball or swing a club. Shoulder pain can also come from bursitis, arthritis, or a stiff "frozen" shoulder.

Shoulder pain often starts to improve within about two weeks, but full recovery can take six months or longer. Keeping the shoulder gently moving usually helps more than resting it completely.
